You Can Give a Child What Every Kid Should Have
Camp is more than cabins and canoes. It’s where a child feels free. Safe. Fully themselves. It’s where they make friends who finally get them, and hear words they might not hear enough: You matter. You belong.
Right now, there’s a child who won’t get to go. Not because they don’t want to—but because life’s been hard, and camp feels out of reach.
But when you give today, you’re not just sending a kid to camp. You’re giving them the kind of summer every child deserves—and too many go without. You’re the reason they get on that bus with a packed bag and wide eyes.
Give a summer they’ll never forget—before it slips away.

Structure
The Salvation Army summer camp programs provide a safe, structured and positive environment, keeping kids of all skill levels active and engaged while also giving them the opportunity to learn about building relationships with peers and the world around them.

New skills and self-reliance
For kids from low-income households, the impact of summer camp extends beyond the swimming lessons, adventure and scouting camps, arts and crafts, music development and sports. At camp, kids are mentored by experienced camp counselors.

The restorative power of nature
Research shows that spending time outdoors in natural environments can improve a student’s test scores, reduce aggressive behavior, increase positive social interactions and even speed physical healing for children. Kids at our summer camp programs benefit daily from the fresh air, exercise and new friendships they form.
